There's a haunted sugar cane, cotton and indigo plantation in Flagler County, just south of Flagler and Palm Coasrt. It's called Bulowville. I believe it is considered to be in Bunnell?-I went there two weeks back into the woods to check it out for possible investigation.-It was impressive.
Bulow built this on sacred Semonole Indian land and they kept running him off and evetually burned the plantation and processing building to the ground, but the ruins are still there. It is said many Seminoles died there and Bulow left ..ony in his late 20's (the place was inherited from his father) and went that year to Paris and died. It is believed to be haunted by the Seminoles that passed there and by Bulow.
It is called, Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park. It is located three miles west of Flagler Beach. During the Second Seminole War in January 1836 when the plantation was burned. It is a cool place to see.
It IS impressive, Tkay. I also went to check out a black Masonic cemetery near. (Only black individuals were allowed to be buried there.) Such a shame, but really something to see. It is in ruins, as well, even though it was used up until 2007. (Also on Old Kings road in Flagler county.) Some of the graves and concrete the coffins are in are cracked, so you can see inside and someone has just put particle board over the graves. some of that is soggy and you can see inside.
There is alot to see in Flagler. Jsut a year or so back a man was killed in a home here and the hoouse has not been able to be sold, even wehn the death has not been reported. Those looking at it say there's a feling about it? There have been professional cleaners several times, thinking it had an odor the people may have sensed, so that's not it. But ..no takers, even though I have seen it and it's a very nice home. I know Palm Coast is a fairly new town as towns go in Florida? but there are things here to investigate. (Oddly, eevn though we have well over 100.000 people here now (only less than 30,000 when I moved in 8 years back, but we had a construction boom that has now flopped,) there is not one single cemetery here in our city! Strange! I wonder where those that pass are taken? (Just thinking aloud!)
This is a recent pic of Bulow Plantation taken 3 days ago. I love going out there! It's $3 per car to get in. You can even rent canoes. It's closed on Tues. and Weds and closes at 5:00pm any other day. Very cool place!
Now about the cemeteries in Flagler. There is one on Old King's Road (not the masonic one). It's between State Road 100 and Old Dixie Highway, closer to 100 by Old King's Elementary.
I just moved up to flagler beach from orlando. I use to do some ghost hunting myself and was woundering where there were good places up here in flagler beach. Im gonna go down to bulow plantion this weekend and check it out. I seen an old graveyard on the side of the road on old kings heading north towards palm coast parkway.... A co worker i know was doing assfault work by there and found a grave stone in the woods so im thinin its really run down and old. I need opinions on how long its been there so i can add it to my info. If there are any other good spots to find the paranormal let me know. Thanks and have a great day.
